Shall We Live Again

“SHALL WE LIVE AGAIN?”

Is there life beyond the grave?  This question has confronted men and women in all ages.  Job posed it rhetorically in what may be the world’s oldest book:  “If a man die, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14).

All available physical evidence indicates fixed belief in life beyond death from the beginning.  This indicates a universal, innate human desire, and the Creator has complemented all such desires with legitimate means of their satisfaction.  To illustrate: light complements sight; sound complements hearing; flavor complements taste.  God has provided life beyond the grave to complement the universal, innate desire of the human heart for life beyond the death of the body.

We triumphantly sing, “Hallelujah!  We shall rise.”  Yes, rise, not simply to conscious existence, for the wicked will do this, but to eternal glory and joy through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23).
